a. He gave me a hundred dollar bill and said: "This is for you to keep your mouth shut. Don't tell anyone anything."

Is that above sentence grammatically correct and meaningful?

The idea is that he is paying me money to keep my mouth shut. 'This' is the hundred dollar bill he is giving me.
