I read a reading exercise on your website about Greta Thunberg.
(https://www.englishclub.com/reading/env ... -greta.php)
"Within a few days she was being interviewed by reporters, other kids had joined her, and she was being supported by Greenpeace activists and others."
I want to know why the author used the past perfect tense where I marked in bold.
Thank you in advance.

Re: past perfect tense
For the normal reason, i.e. here that the act of her being joined by the other kids preceded the time of the interview.
