"love on"?

Post by jsofsweden »

Hi! I was wondering, is it possible/correct to say "love on", as in keep on loving..
Almost like when you say "move on" or "live on", keep on moving, keep on living - surely you should be able to say love on as keep on loving everyone. No?
If it's in fact grammatically correct, does it sound weird (a question for you native speakers only, only people growing up with english as their first language).

Thanks!!

It is, needless to say, not standard English!

However, no doubt a sympathetic native could guess the meaning by analogy with 'keep on' etc.
