I have made up the sentences below.
(1a) I love different colours of hats and ties.
(1b) I love different colours in hats and ties.
(2a) I love hats and ties of different colours.
(2b) I love hats and ties in different colours.
Some of my non-native English speaking friends think "of" is correct. My other friends think 'in" is correct. To my non-native ears, I think both are okay. Please give me your answer. Thank you for your time and help.
