anyone

Post by azz »

a. Don't think you are special. This company sends these cards to anyone.

b. Don't think you are special. He gives that kind of compliment to anyone.

Are the above sentences grammatically correct?

"Anyone" cannot be replaced by "everyone', because the meaning would change. The idea is that there is nothing special about the recipient, not that everyone gets a card/a compliment.

Many thanks.

Possible, but unidiomatic.
Future (will send/give...) would be preferable.
