the way I like/follow-up question

Post by azz »

a. He talked to me as I like.
b. He talked to me as I like it.

c. He talked to me the way I like.
d. He talked to me the way I like it.

Which of the above are grammatical?

In the other examples the 'it' was necessary. I think they aren't here.

Many thanks

All structurally possible, but:

a. He talked to me as I like.
semantically strange, verging on meaningless

b. He talked to me as I like it.
ditto

c. He talked to me the way I like.
Natural.

d. He talked to me the way I like it.
Unidiomatic but comprehensible
