[the maximum] or [its maximum]

Post by ansonman »

I have made up the sentences below.

(1) Last month, the attendance for the presentation on marketing strategies reached the maximum. The host was very happy about it.

(2) Last month, the attendance for the presentation on marketing strategies reached its maximum. The host was very happy about it.

Which one sounds better to native speakers: "attendance reached the maximum" or "attendance reached its maximum"?

Please help me. Thank you very much.
