[left eye cannot see clearly][right arm has rashes]

Post by ansonman »

I have made up the sentences below.

(1a) My left eye cannot see clearly.
(2a) My right arm has rashes.

My non-native English speaking friends think neither one is idiomatic. They have revised them below.

(1b) I cannot see clearly with my left eye.
(2b) I have rashes on my right arm.

Who is correct? Please help me. Thank you very much.

Your friends are correct.

It is natural to make the person, not the body part, the subject in such cases.
