different ways to say "date change"

Post by ansonman »

(1) There is a change to the date of our meeting.
(2) There is a change in date for our meeting.
(3) There is a change of date for our meeting.
(4) There is a date change for our meeting.

Most of my non-native English speaking friends think (2) and (4) are incorrect. I don't understand why they are wrong. Thank you for your time and help.

Yes, #2 and 4 are unnatural.

This is idiom, not grammar.
