Do u think elections are the expression of democracy?

Post by Tanusik »

Hi everybody! I mean that even when we have the opportunity to vote, there may not be the right candidate. By the way the kind of a person you'd like to see elected let's say president? I'm very interested in your oppinion. Thanks.

Yeah, sure enough to tell that election is a good expression of democracy, but it cannot always be.As an example for an election in one class, voting for monitor,if you are in good relationship with the candidate, you may tend to vote him! Then,in another side,if the candidate handle well with the classmate while he doesn't do much for class, most students will still select him.

It seems that elections are the perfect expression of democracy, especially in western countries. Democracy means that people rule themselves. However, the practice of rulling shows us that: 1/ The choice is always between two or three political organisations (Torries and labour uk, democrats and republicans US, PS and UMP France etc ) no one but those formations are able to reach the power). 2/ The elections themselves are rulled by money (television shows, electoral campaign, etc.) People are under influence of the big medias. 3/ Who actually take strategic decisions are not those have been elected but some unknown offices, intelligency services, financial operators etc

Yes, in a way because people are given choices whom we want to vote. Although, it doesn't mean that whoever people choose to vote will win.
