The early Christian Church denounced such teachings as heretical.
Hey, I'm all in favour of hearing the dissenting voices. Besides, the Church's definition of 'heretic' has been somewhat loose over the centuries.

If the Church had these puppies banned it was for a reason. There're two sides to every story, right? I'd like to hear the side that's been silent for thousands of years.

Don't hold your breath for a 'New and revised edition of the Holy Bible', though.

This is nothing new! The first Christians denounced such teachings as a fraud and they would have known! It is not likley that most of the apostles would have allowed themselves to be butchered to death the way they were if they were not sincere.

It is gonna be like the Gnostic teachings I can assure you . It all comes back to how the church has squelched truths ...in order to be the, powers that be. In order to keep the gospel in their best interest....so that we were kept from realizations taught by the Christed one ...that we must realize we all have the same powers of decision that the Christ was implying that we have.Especially ... That We ARE just as He was....some of the message did leak into the actual text. Not much. He was telling too many truths and no priest could be having this. That is why he went down in Biblical texts just as they wanted it portreyed and not as he would have it really.
from my lessons anyways...
(humbly)

Actually the church had little to do with puting the bible together!!!!!!!!!

You see the the scriptures were already in circulation well before the stinking roman catholic sickos were even in existence. The Roman catholic church, in reallity just gave their nod of "yes' to the writings of the apostles. Their approval was actually meaningless and unwanted since the catholics were nothing less than vermin ridden psychopathic killers in the disguise of christianity.

If you have ever read any of the books that were supposedly left out of the bible you would soon see that they are obvious frauds, anyway. It wasn't like we needed pomous assed catholic priests to tell us !!!!!

There nods of hell no is more like it than nods of yes...they dissagreed with anything that gave the idea of people having their own abilities to be close to God by themselves. They wanted man (woman and child included) to come to them in order to touch a higher source ...if the people were not encouraged to go to the priests for answers they would trust themselves and not need to pay alms to the priests and their churches....how would that do...no, that could not be allowed the people were told to go to God through these "Priests as prophets" alone, even though the teachings of the apostles, had to do with finding a god within them...that divine life IS within....and that no one need to look outside of themselves for answers, that God was within the reach of everyone....that is why Jesus said 'suffer ye to be like unto the little children' that people would be set free from the chains of dogma and illusion...that they may seek God, WITHIN and not *without*, not finding out from someone else what God meant to them...did he not say also that we all are sons of God as he was?
(not needing to go to these corrupted priests for their answers).everything was twisted for the power it gave to the priests.

again my humble take on this...
I have been a student and I am not one to preach... any theosophy, because i have integrated all mine, until they all mesh in a unique way i need it to fit...that finally makes sense for me alone.

:D PRECISELY!

Try not to be SO gullible to the teachings of men...which is how the Bible came to be written, by a fallible mankind, about a prophet of a/one God, among countless, IMHO.

I think TK, that you are reading just a little too much into the teachings of Jesus here! ..... While it is certainly true that he taught that a personal relationship was needed with god and no need to go through a church, it is pretty clear that he believed and prayed to an external Creator. Your interpretation sounds a little "New Agey" to me.

My thoughts: If there is a god there also is a devil or anti-god of some kind......and if so, there is sure to be lies, deception and confusion surrounding the truth. And this is what each of us must decipher for ourselves.

EXACTLY!

oh...Danyet of course I tend to be rather new age....my mom and step-dad were the freakiest hippys around....how can I not be a bit new agey?

I try to be unbiased...in religious leanings. But I still have the openness to various if not ALL religious messages, that open minded way is written all over my heart.
I believe as i need too, to bring myself some happiness and grace. i integrate the teachings to suit what I think is right for me. I guess that is new age/new thought.

yet:(dan)
Paralegals should be very unbiased in order to be objective...at work, and in our daily actions, but what we do with our ethics is just to have a simple fairness program of seeing everyone as someone who deserves fairness in life, and under the protections provided by law. so being new agey is perfect for the business...actually and will help me in the long run with clients who feel comfortable with someone who appreciates their spiritual belief systems, and having studied most of the common ones, I relate to people better. (i think anyway)
I have not been interested in studying the Koran just yet, it seems too sexist and extreme for me, but one day i may do more than scan, for understanding these people who live for Allah.
I am most aligned to The Urantia Book, read in study groups all over the world.
Mom became a UB studier when I was just ten.
