Discussion question: Do you think the Egyptian people have the momentum needed to bring down the government? Why or why not?

It seems the march has been a success. The Egyptian people has had the power to convoke more than a million people. No doubt this is an unquestionable success. The aptitude of Egyptian army has been a very significant key for success and may mean the government's failure.

When asked about the Eygptian people's revolt against the government, most people say the protestors have the momentum to overthrown their president. But many other people regard this action as an useless movement. I personally think no one can deny the power from citizens, especially when the army take their side with them.
If possible, I hope moderator can point out any faults in my post. Thanks!

With the latest US claim of approval of the revolution, the Egyptians almost brought forward the win.

According to the latest report, US government tends to preserve president Hosni Mubarak for several months. Obviously, the president refuses to step down from his position. Anyway, I take off my hat to Egyptians people.

The Egyptian people's revolt against their dictator have caused wide public concern over the recent weeks. The protest movement doesn't seem to decline in a short time, especially when a hero appears in Tahrir square. In order to win self-esteem, it remind me that someone said : " We shall fight on the hills.
We shall fight in the streets.
We shall fight blood and sweat and tears."

egypt is a very wealthy country yet 80% of egyptians live in utter poverty
egypt is a republic country yet hosni glued himself in the presidential chair for about 30 years.
hosni the dictator threatens his people to be buried underground if they just think negatively about him. no problem in torturing, killing and abusing the victims just for being suspects without evidence.
i wish the egyptians put him and his party in the underground jails that he built to punish those who opposes him by even a word.

Thanks to tunisians, they fought for their freedom, and triggered the revolts in arab world.

The move against the dictators gains steam when the president claim that he will stay the position until September.
Now the problem is on which side the army will take?
NO one can deny the basic fact that the army play a crucial role.
At the same time, US government attitude have a mighty influence on the situation.

It proved that the will of the people is above everything.
President Mubarak has gone with the wind. Then who will be the next?
Congratulation! I take off my hat to the Egyptian people.

After Mubarak will come the Islamic taliban and more war. Moslems are not smart enough to live in a free society.

" Moslems are not smart enough to live in a free society."

when you write a comment, try not to hurt others.
i agree that talibans like chaos and wars and that they may hunt the chance to rule egypt, but this is not a reason to generalize by saying that "moslems and not some moslems" are not smart enough....
this shows how your general idea about us is not smart enough.

thanks god, i will never ever think to post some comments that may hurt anyone feelings.
and if i did, i would not hesitate to apologize.

You can't write the truth if you are worried about what some people will say. You become mediocre and untrustworthy if you do not stick to your principles. Some people's feelings should be hurt.

what kind of truth that based on generalizing and not specifying?
you are accusing us of being talibanis or stupid to rule our countries! you said moslems and not some moslems.

your first post would be truthful if you adressed extremists only, but saying moslems: meaning all of us, makes no sense.

"You become mediocre and untrustworthy if you do not stick to your principles"
what if some of your principles are wrong? will you stick to them and pose judgements regardless if they are right or wrong. sometimes you can't figure out you're wrong untill people tell you that.
my principles focus on discussing things specifically, so my facts will hurt the targted people or group only.
generalizing makes things worse.

i abhore talibanis and any other so called islamic extremist cults more than anyone else because they are brainwashed and want to kill us or drive us backward.
i'm moderate and i know my religion enough, and i won't explain it to any body.
if some one asks i may answer, it depends on the question type: kind or malicious.
and if i want to express my opinion, i should be fair enough.

i wrote and omitted few sentences because i 'm not a fan of e-debates with any e-member in serious matters. it's useless arguing with some one you don't know who he\she is.

you posted your own words and thoughts and they represent you as mine do.
wish you and all people a good life.

I wonder why so few people actively response in this forum.
Most important thing, why no forum could be discussed on recent weeks news.
