It is very serious situation and it is now the Chinese Lunar New Year which sees many celebration activities stopped and the nationwide people movement suspended. Tourism and catering industry suffer hugely.
God bless China and Chinese people!

Hello Nanning. Do we know the cause of these epidemics - the latest of which is fortunately not yet a pandemic?

--

ORIGIN - epidemic
early 17th century (as an adjective): from French épidémique, from épidémie, via late Latin from Greek epidēmia ‘prevalence of disease’, from epidēmios ‘prevalent’, from epi ‘upon’ + dēmos ‘the people’.

ORIGIN - pandemic
mid 17th century: from Greek pandēmos (from pan ‘all’ + dēmos ‘people’) + -ic.

We have almost gone through the disaster, but not without heavy prices paid. Nearly all the population of the country have been stuck at home indoors, with most of them driven half crazy for nearly two months.

While some of the other countries who are not so friendly to China looked on, now more than 100 countries are under the bad situation, with confirmed cases increased day by day, but we Chinese are always ready to offer our Chinese solutions and wisdom to help anybody who needs our help.

The figure of Baidu, the most popular search engine of China shows that most of Chinese staying at home have no other things to do than search online porn materials but porn in any form is banned by governments in the country. Human nature does not lie. What a ~ time it is, there will be more children after the epidemic.

Latest news says that a group of 13 foreigners got into China from Vietnam through the southern border in Guangxi by climbing moutains were intercepted and repatriated. Since all borders are closed, China is a safe place for many foreigners to stay in compared with other places in the world.
The chief of the Chinese border patrol team who succeeded in capturing these illegal immigrants is named Yang Jianfeng, secretary of a Communist Party of China township committee, and an alumnus of our college. We are very proud of having such marvellous alumnus working for the joint efforts in controling and preventing the pandemic.

I saw today that the w-virus is making a comeback in Beijing and other places. And all gyms in Beijing now have to close again because ONE gym miles away in Beijing had one COVID case. Could that be true? Why would they close all the gyms because ONE gym had COVID, yet they leave the restaurants open? Does it mean that COVID is now only targeting gyms :?:

I don't where you got your information. But whatever there is nothing wrong to be very cautious and it is better to kill a thousand wrong men than to let the real criminal at large. The country and the world have suffered so much, a little more trouble added to the disorder is nothing. I live in Guangxi, nearly three thousand kilometers away from the capital and without any confrimed cases for nearly 40 days, but here we still observe the strict measures for controling COVID-19, with no indoor gyms open to the public and most of the schools at various levels remain closed.
Sometines I can't help thinking you Europeans are over optimistic or naive about the disease and that you want to lift the lockdown sooner than China facing with much more cases than in China.

A pandemic (from Greek πᾶν, pan, "all" and δῆμος, demos, "local people" the 'crowd') is an epidemic of an infectious disease that has spread across a large region, for instance multiple continents or worldwide, affecting a substantial number of people. ((the source - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pandemic ))

A pandemic is a terrible thing that most countries, people, regions have faced. Unfortunately, the 21st century happened to her, and first of all I feel sorry for the Chinese people, because half of the world began to blame their traditions for bringing a sore. May God give strength to the Chinese people, in such a difficult time

Thank you for your concern. We do not have such worry any more. Today is the day of Workers, the whole country of China is on holiday and there are millions of travellers coming and going across the country enjoying themselves for the next five days. To you and the people elsewhere in the world, I advise you to wear masks and keep social distance and learn from China because it is ridiculous to think you can do better not to follow the suit of China or that it is China that gets you in troubles.

The epidemic situation in China has improved a lot recently, and there has been almost no large-scale spread. If someone wants to teach in an international school in China, or online teaching, it is a good choice.

Thanks for your concern, Nanning! Now the situation of the pandemic in China has been a lot better and our preventative methods have worked efficiently. The plan of COVID-19 prevention and control is constantly updating along with the changing conditions of the epidemic. For example, the conditions for releasing quarantine are stricter than previous ones. Moreover, different provinces and cities in China have respective requirements for quarantine. For example, in Shanghai, all new arrivals need to be quarantined for 14 days and then monitored health for 7 days in their local community. If anyone intends to come to china, for instance, doing teaching jobs recently, please pay close attention to the latest policies for arrivals in the city you are going to.

Hi, Tina Song, are you from China? I am from China, too. What a surprise to meet you at this forum.
Regarding the pandemic control situation, China is doing much better than many other countries. You know, recently due to the strict measures of preventing virus from entering, the football teams of Syria and Maldive that planned to join the competition of 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier held in Suzhou, China were denied the entry visa by China consulate in the UAE. So now the venue has to be changed to Dubai, but the expense for all the matches is still the burden of the previous host country, China.

China has been taking many positive measures these days.
The revision is to strengthen the epidemic prevention of key areas and groups, as well as to control imported cold chain food and goods.
In order to strengthen the health management of all inbound passengers and their close contacts, two tests with different nucleic acid detection reagents done by different institutions should be collected when quarantine ends.

To conclude, different provinces have different quarantine requirements. You can learn more about traveling to China during Covid-19.

Yes, sadly, now COVID-19 was spread to the whole world.
