London and Mexicans

Post by Elba »

This week began at London a special event. A parade of mexican literature.
As a mexican I only know Carlos Fuentes is one of the most reading aauthors arround the world., but the thrue is that in inimaginable countries people use to read -and they like- mexican literature.
Recently Anahita and me talk about to post a topic of mexican literature.
And this is the opportunity:
Begin with a questionary:
1.-How many mexican authors do you know?
2.-Which is your favorit?
3.-Which of the books of them have you read?
4.-Do you know José Agustín?
5.-Have you read any book of a mexican woman?
6.-What do you think of mexican and latinamerican literature?

After know some of your opinions I think that would be interesting to talk about the most reading and maybe exchange URL about them.

Dear Tikay,

I think you are confused. It is logical, because the two authors you mentioned have lived at México too much years. but they aren´t mexicans.
Gabriel García Marquez is from Colombia.
Isabel Allende is from Chile
The author of the book Like wather for chocolate is Laura Esquivel a mexican woman, but in my opinion not a very good writer.
I mentioned some mexican author:
Carlos Fuentes.- Novels and esays
Jose Revueltas.- Novels, teather, stories for movie (excellent)
Juan Rulfo.- stories
Rosario Castellanos.- Stories and novel (Balun Canan is the name of the must important)
Agustín Yañes.- Novels
Pita Amor.- Poetry
Octavio Paz.- Esays, poetry
Juan García Ponce.- Novels
Ines Arredondo.- storie
Jose Agustin.- Stories
Parmenides García Saldaña.- Stories
ant too much more.
