One of my favourite The Cranberries' songs with a very ...peculiar background but I couldn't find anything better on youtube.com.
Cheers.

Myslovitz

Post by LadyMacbeth » Tue Jul 04, 2006 8:20 pm

And here is the most famous Silesian pop band Myslovitz. They made international career (won one MTV music award) and sing in English from time to time.
How do you like their English?
Some of their songs I like very much. Others are rather hopeless. This one beneath is one of the most known.
Maybe you have heard it in English version of course?
I would compare them to Polish Coldplay (to some level of course).

last song for today is Polish version of another song of Myslozitz. I like this song very much. It is a song about people who want to sell you ideal life.
but does it exist?
I think the guitars in this song are very interesting.

I am listening to Acidland but my favourite song is Korova Milky Bar (both no English version and video on youtube.com)

Acidland Lyrics (in English)

No, don't give up and take life as it is.
Think there's no chance.
That you would live again.

Why so much stress?
Don't you have gains to get?
We all do, even you,
and the more you seek,
the more you find then love,
night and rain.
Life is good,
so try to luck and kill the pain.
Tell me, do you always think you have no worth?
Find it in yourself!

No, don't give up and take life as it is.
Think there's no chance.
That you would live again.

This country's like a psychodelic trip.
You can't change anything.
Go and make use of it.
Your life belongs to you, yourself.
Make more mistakes now and make up for them,
and when you're down you will rebound.
Bravely use your time,
or you may miss your only chance.

No, don't give up and take life as it is.
Think there's no chance.
That you would live again.

So take a breath and think again.
Life can make sense.
Just take it all the way it is.

So push and change and try again.
Go forward safe.
And take life all the way it is.

Do change your life,
stand up and fight.
Go forward safe.

[Band from Poland]

Myslovitz-Acidland Polish version

cheers,
LM

song about FAIR judging

Post by LadyMacbeth » Tue Jul 11, 2006 2:35 pm

Hi,
when WHOLE WORLD speaks about Zidane and blind judges on football pitches I am listening to my favourite Sophie Elis Bextor who helped her own happiness in the video beneath because she would have been really stupid if she hadn't done that! Besides think - the judge in this video was even worse than stupid when he really had no opinion of his own and he finally got scared of Elis-the bullier.

to memory of Syd Barret

Post by LadyMacbeth » Wed Jul 12, 2006 8:33 pm

Hi,
today I HAVE To remind you about things that shaped me somehow many years ago and mostly it was music played by PINK FLOYD band. These are times of my studies, all these nights when we were learning or partying, all evenings and nights when we couldn't sleep cause was too hot or too noisy around. Then I was putting tape-recorder on the table and was playing PINK FLOYD music at maximum volume as long as I could hear nothing but total silence on corridors.
I didn't pay any attention on knocking and phoning - I regarded silence as the most important value in my nervous life.

And now Syd Barret is dead. He overdosed drugs when he was young. He never recovered of his mental illness. Pink Floyd became dismantled after numerous court cases. Just life.

to memory of Syd Barret and people who started psychodelic rock:

Pink Floyd - Careful with the axe Eugene
