Hello :D
My home country is in Japan.
My country's famous food "tempura" and "sushi".
Do you know them?
I think that every body knows it.
I like "takoyaki".It's a famous food.
"Takoyaki" is the food which is cooked by using an octopus.
But,I think that there are a lot of people who don't like an octopus :(
But,"takoyaki" delicious :D
When you come to Japan, please try to eat "takoyaki".

In Costa Rica!
In my country the most popular food is "Gallo Pinto".
We mix rice and black beans, to give flavor we added: chop onion and garlic ,celery, sweet pepper, and a very famous sauce here that is called "Lizano sauce" or "English sauce".
This food can be eaten in breackfast or lunch. :D
It's very delicious!!!

This is a picture of a few items from a traditional Southern style we call "Soul Food" here in the Southern US. It's believed to be a mix of French, Native American, Irish, and African cooking. (Interesting huh?)
It usually has:
Fried Chicken
Mashed Potatoes
Corn on the Cob
Green Beans
Biscuits (Not cookies)
Gravy (For biscuits & potatoes)
Slaw
Corn Bread (It has to be sweet not salty!)
ICE TEA!!! W/ LOTS OF SUGAR!!! Those silly people up North don't have sweet iced tea. It's a travesty!

That's Jambalaya, a cajun dish originating in the New Orleans area and is highly influenced by Native American, French, and Spanish cooking. It's VERY spicy to those who aren't used to spices. (So people who eat really hot curry often won't have a problem!)
These are just dishes from the South. The other regions of the US have their own unique cuisine.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Hello aprodianne !
How often do you eat your typical food, I really think that it would be delicious.
Here in Costa Rica we have some typical drinks, for example "agua dulce" this is a sweet drink, it's like a hot tea, you can prepare it with water or with milk. Well, I really don`t like it to much.
Do you have a typical drink in your country ?

I don't really often eat that food because usually people in Indonesia cook Rendang on special occasion, like on Moslem Festive or wedding party, etc. But we can find Rendang & Gado-Gado easily in some traditional restaurant. I don't really like Gado-Gado 'coz i don't like vegetables :) .
I think your 'agua dulce' similar with 'teh tarik' from Malaysia
In Indonesia we have some typical drinks, such as 'wedang jahe or sekoteng'. it made from ginger boiled with water & sugar and served with peanuts, green bean, & agar. This drink is believed can make our body warm & more fresher after we drink it.
