Hi Rui,
I've been in London several times, but I cannot help you. :(
Accomodations in the center are expensive, I can suggest that you go to some bed&breakfast, they are lovely and cheaper than hotels.
Have you got an English tourist office in your country? They are usually very helpful.
Otherwise, have you tried by searching online?

hello, i've been searching in net for something, i'am just looking for some opinions of someone that already had stayed in some place and liked, i see many things in the net but as you must know in the net everything is perfect, all the sites say that you never will have a problem, but sometimes when you arrive some bad surprises are waiting for you

but anyway, thank you fore the help ;)

hi rui!
i was in london last july and if you want sth cheap i recommend you bed&breakfasts. the problem with them is that you don't know how they will be and they don't always accept books for one day. i stayed in a bed&breakfast and i was lucky cuz it was clean and the family was nice so here's the info

if you're interested, the one i stayed in is SE10/JS in the A list. it's not in the center but is well communicated by train :) [/url]

thank you very much trinity19, well, i have to see, because as i just gona stay for a night, maybe it would be better stay in some place in centre of London to make a walk around the city and go visit something, if i would stay outside the city i’m going to lost many time in transports, and if I’ll like London I would make another visit for more time, as a said before this is only a surprise to my girlfriend, this will be the first time of her in a airplane

cheers,

What a romantic idea, Rui!
She'll surely appreciate it and this will be the first one of many many journeys together throughout the world.

If you stayed more than one night, I would suggest you the vouchering system of Bancotel (http://www.bancotel.com).
You can stay in good hotels (three stars or more) paying with one voucher (50€) for two persons, but you have to buy at least 5 vouchers (or 10, 15, etc.). Vouchers expire after one year, so you can buy them in advance.
I've tried it, it's a good system, cheap and with no bad surprises, I suggest it to everyone who would need to book hotels.

There are places called hostels that are incredibly cheap, compared to hotel stays and one night should not be a problem. :D
