Istanbul is one of the best cities...about 15 million people live here and every year about 10 million tourists visit istanbul..generally people come here to visit historical places ,to go around and to see internotional competition (such as formula1 , finals , tournoments...)
here is a video to show istanbul's some places..

It is a really nice city in spite of the heavy traffic and its cosmopolitan structure.
I visited St.Sophia last week,i was charmed by its architecture. It is a great feeling to sit in there and see how the elements of two different religions are in harmony.I regretted as i didn't have a camera with me!!!

It looks very beautiful. But how expansive is living in Istanbul? Approximately how much will someone need to stay there, let’s say, for a week including a hotel (an affordable one, but not the cheapest), eating out, visiting museums and historical places, etc?
And what about the local people? Are they friendly to foreigners?

living here is very very cheap , and if you can stay in a good 5 stars otel , maybe they are expensive...in fact local people are so friendly , but sometimes you can meet people that have bad aims as every countries....you can get more information in this site http://english.istanbul.com/?Vst=2 ...and hotels price list ;
