If you're talking about the popularity of this or that person in their native countries and in the whole world ("the most famous" you say) i have no answer. I guess... Mohandas Gandhi. He made his people believe in better life and shared all their misfortunes and troubles. He is an extraordinary kind of leader!
Being Russian i defenetely say it's NOT LENIN! :|

The first leader game to mind is Peter I and the second was Napoleon.

More leaders

Postby Ruye » Wed Feb 01, 2006 12:14 am

You forgot famous classical leaders like Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar... and great modern ones, like George W. Bush, Wehrmacht general Gerd von Rundstedt, USA army general and Multi-National Force war hero George W. Casey, Jr...

How about business leaders, showbussiness leaders, feminist leaders...?

I've got the list from here,
http://www.time.com/time/time100/leaders/index.html

I should have said famous leader or revolutionary.

Sorry... i guess that i'm late with my reply. I try to explain Lenin nowadays is a brand, well-selling character... like Che Guevara, BUT Che is a leader who was trying to help his nation... so many praising words to him... Lenin is a mystery even for us ("guys from Russia" :D ) especailly for us.. Two-faced, giving money to russian bombers, cruel... I'm defenitely NOT a communist! :!:

 Wow, I never knew he was like this. I thought Hochiminh and Mao Zedong were like this, but I didn't expect to hear Lenin was also one of those kinda people. Really interesting! My cousin's bf has a book about him. Maybe... I'll borrow it some day to read.
