There are many different ways of learning English Grammar. It all depends on the purpose. Me answering this question aptly without knowing why you want to learn grammar would be very difficult.

But still I would try to answer it

1. If you want to learn English grammar for any exams then you should study grammar books (according to the exam) and try to attempt answering questions that are asked. Even though you will find many grammatical exercises online also. But it would be limited. You should try to solve question papers of previous years for that particular exam and buy books with exercises.

2. If you want to learn English grammar for teaching purpose then you should continuously commit yourself to studying grammar books everyday. Also, try to look at the sentences that you read, listen and speak and try to find out any questions that might arise in your mind about those sentences. When you talk to people try to see if they make grammatical mistakes and then correct the mistakes in your mind. (Don't go about criticising people for their mistakes otherwise they might not want to talk to you in the future.) Also, try to find the easiest way in which you can explain the grammatical concepts to people.

3. If you want to learn English grammar because you want to correct the grammatical mistakes that you make while speaking then perhaps instead of studying grammatical books you should try to speak grammatically correct sentences as much as possible. Repetition is the key here. Make sure that you listen and speak as much correct English as possible.

There are lots of ways to learn grammar. The first and the foremost way is to solve the grammar errors with the help of writing skills and play the quiz test etc.
I was also not good in grammatically but from few days I have improved my grammar to the help of English Sikho website where daily updating their grammar, vocabulary, new blog posts etc.

Hi,

I have a question in connection with teaching method of irregular verbs.
When I was a child we had to learn the simple past and past participle forms of irregular verbs at the same time which wasn't difficult to me at all.
Now, language books ( Project, Get to the top etc) teach these forms separately in different units/books/grades.
Which method is better according to you?
And which method would you recommend for ESL teachers to teach and why? What is your method as an esl teacher?
