THE 3 FASTEST SKILLS TO IMPROVE YOUR VOCABULARY IN ONE WEEK

Post by hachmoune »

The vocabulary is the body or the main linguistic element for any language, but the problem is in the way that most learners learn or improve the vocabulary, and the way is they study the individual words, they do a big list of words and trying to memorize it all the time and that doesn't work at all except in one case that is using "FLASHCARDS" for the words that are hard to remember for you and you usually gonna use them in different situations.

Also, English doesn't contain vocabulary only but it contains more important sentences such as idioms and slang.

An idiom is a common word or phrase which means something different from its literal meaning but can be understood because of their popular use. ... Idioms are made of normal words that have a special meaning known to almost everyone.

Slang is defined as a casual type of language that is playful or trendy. it consists both of coined words and phrases and of new or extended meanings attached to established terms.

For example: if you heard an actor in a movie say "John is Behind bars", in this case, you may be didn't understand this idiom and you'll think it's a vocabulary and you'll search in the dictionary to find it word by word "behind"+ "Bars", and guess what? maybe you will not understand what the actor means when he says that.

But if you learn idioms every single day (5 idioms a day gonna be great for you), you'll know that is an Idiom and you'll search for it and you will realize that the actor means when he says "John is Behind bars" that John is in Jail or Prison.

The same thing with slang:

slang meaning

24/7 All the time, always available

"In New York City, a lot of stores are open 24/7"

Airhead Someone who isn't very smart, a stupid person.

"Susan and Jim are such airheads they love
sports but they are failing all of their classes at school!".

So, as you can see here are the 3 fastest ways to improve Vocabulary:

FLACH CARDS.

IDIOMS.

SLANG.

Including all of that, you should listen to a lot of conversations and reading a lot of books that you can understand.

Enjoy your time speaking English! SEE YOU GUYS :-D :-D
