Both options sound right to me. Although I'm not a native speaker of English.

I am a native English speaker and Dixie's right, they're both good.

I would say about is better. I always use it. Talking about, think about, discussing about...

But I am not sure.

ON and ABOUT in your example were used to refer something.

Your examples are correct.

Yeah both are correct. though maybe would be better to say "I have got some ideas....." I guess depends on the context of this sentence.

Maybe, "idea on" is less common than "idea about"...
I have just searched them at google...
576.000 "idea on" and 1.060.000 "idea about"
^ that's why I think so...

I've got ideas on how to make lots of friends.

Are you saying this sentence is incorrect as well?

I was standing downtown today and for some odd reason, EC popped into my head so I randomly yanked a few strangers walking by and asked them the topic question. As I thought, both words are correct and express the same thing.

And the cost of that answer was just a few funny looks!

Nah, we, Calgarians, are genuinely friendly people. If I were to beg on the streets, I'd make more money than the president of the United States. But, of course, I would not do that because I have ethics.
