write in to?

Post by pdh0224 »

Dear teacher,

"One wrote in to say that he wanted even more scientific detail in the reviews," she said. "So we're working on that. People really are interested in these things."

Q : I think "wrote into" is correct phrase. Is it a typo, isn't it?

All the best, :)

No, it's correct. 'Write in' is a phrasal verb (meaning 'write to an organization, radio show, etc.') and 'to' belongs with the folllowing infinitive (= in order to say...).
