weight and small

Post by tp »

Dear Alan,

Please help me with my sentences below. thank you in advance.

1. My weight was too heavy, so I had to do more exercise 2 years ago. (I want to keep the word "weight", so is it correct?)

2. Your voice is too small, I can't hear you. (Can I use "small" in this sentence?)

best regards,
tp

1. If you insist on keeping 'weight', you will need to say 'my weight was too GREAT', but that would be rather unnatural. 'I was too heavy' would be preferable.

2. No: my voice was too SOFT.
