No. I think that police is an integral part of any developed society which keep law and order and prevent
chaos in the street. For example, what would you do if someone is going to steal your car? I'm sure you'd call police :). But, yes there are societies which still live without a police ( and lots of things :))...for example- a tribe. Could you live in a tribe?..()

Hi niceghost,
I'm sure that you have misled by the movies. Movies are just Movies!
In ancient, there were polices and laws in china. The Chinese kungfu is true, but exaggerated in the films.

Bruce Lee is a chinese american. i just find out, very reliable. Many people admire him, i know he was very talented and he was the first asian who made a foundation for chinese martial arts to the non chinese world, but im sorry i prefer Jackie Chan. Jackie is my unique idol untill now.
I like funny movie more than tragic. Bruce Lee is a hero but his films make u sad more than funny.
maybe men find it exciting to fight with each other till blood flood.

In my opinion police is extremaly imprortant nowadays. On the other hand I think that police in my country is terrible! They will do nothing if sb steal your car. Every teenager knows where we can buy drugs or stolen mobiles. That's not a problem here. Police only write your name on the piece of paper if you will be in the city at midnight. That's my opinion ,young person's point of view

I hate police, but I don't think I would prefer a society without them. No security, no life!

I do always feel unsafe if there is a couple of policemen around me, I don´t like beefy ones but unfortunately they are more like to be rule than an exception  they rarely go in for sports for sure. I feel I can easily be taken to prison just for being myself, I was vey disgusted when at the age of 14 I was checked comletely to my shoes when we were visiting a soccer match with my dad, I was embarassed and felt ashamed :( But I would never like to be left in this country without any law at all and the police as in this or that way an arm of the law

The main role of police is to protect us but in real life is not the same. in my country many police men take bribe and it really make me loose faith in the goverment. Having police is important but having a real good police is more important. how do u feel when u know that is wrong but u have to follow unless u want to get trouble(eg u have to give bribe to get something which u r obviously deserved)

Police is the execution of the law. The law would be ineffective if no executioners existing. That requires the right mind and proper behavior of any police as well as security agents. No society is perfect and its people equally have a great variety of weaknesses.
Sometimes the presence of some police makes us somewhat disappointed, which enables us to be restricted by something invisible, namely we feel our own liberty being a little limited.
I personally don't like police especially when most of them take advantage of their power to do wrong things. It does not mean that good cops with entirely "clean hands" would protect yourself or anyone. For the safety and benefit of the majority, police possibly offend an individual or a small group..
I hate police, yet i need their presence in society.

i couldnt agree more with you  however we know that such society is completely impossible, and the problems that everybody has mentioned about the police on each country are a bit of what we could tell abou the same societies, they are the image of the society where we live in, therefore, bad police means bad society.

Doesn't that mean we are incapable of keeping ourselves out of troubles? And there's no sense of trust and honesty among us..... :?

Why do you hate them?
I saw a TV program about the American Police, and they seemed to me very polite. You should be lucky and proud about your police. :)

Americans have a stereotype that when one called a police for help, that person would be helped faster if he/she was White. Or something that is not related to this topic like, how life can be worse for you when you're a cute White girl in America?

If every people in the world were abundant spritually and physicaly ,the society that has no police may be able to keep flourishing. I think the most of crimes are due to distress.
