You're referring to a dish or a party or both?sunsun wrote:Do you like BBQ, how often? And do you use propane tank for grilling or others?

Bbq is popular here(Philippines). I actually had a bbq party by the beach for my 18th birthday with my young friends.. I just thought that the young once wouldn't enjoy the smoke of the bbq and the music.. No, we don't use propane tank for grilling. We use charcoal. It's actually much cheaper. And the conversations start from the lighting of the charcaol(like ohad)..We use a paper or something :). It serves two purposes.. an opportunity to socialize and to save money..hehe 8)

well as a modification of a BBQ we have Shashlik instead. The sociable meaning is quite the same - gathering people to have some booze and fried meat and a conversation, made outside, nature included. I can't calculate all the ways of preparing meat before being spitted click here

BBQ is a way of life in Australia in the Summer. Most people don't eat much inside in the summer months. It is great to be outdoors cooking etc. I miss them I used to have them every weekend but don't as much now because there is only two of us and it seems a little pointless. Hopefully this summer we will get back into it. 8)

Popular around the world?
Some people don't even know what BBQ is !!!
It might be popular in your country.
But not because it's popular in your country, then it is also automatically popular in other countries, let alone all around the world.
Don't you think that it's too bombastic !!!

BBQ is the most popular activity among Poles during the summer season. We mostly cook "kiełbasa" - our famous staple food available here in mamy kinds - on our barbecue parties which we call in the same way as bbq implement "grill". Recently we introduced other meats roasted pork loin chops and ribs as well as salmon. We love to drink vodka and beer on our bbqs.

Well, you can say that it can be popular in some places but barbecue is most likely to be something that people like to have for parties, special occasions, or great summer days.
I can say that I somewhat like barbecue? lol
