a femme fatale: a beautiful and seductive woman, especially one who will in the end bring disaster to a man who has a relationship with her

a Don Juan: a man who can easily seduce women (from the name of a legendary Spanish nobleman who was very successful in attracting women)

an old flame: a former lover

shop-soiled (adjective): describes a new item that has been made dirty by being displayed and handled in a shop ("to soil" means to make dirty)

the small hours: the early hours of the day - so the first few hours after midnight
