"him come"

Post by Jededly » Fri Jul 12, 2013 9:32 pm

Hi! Which is the function of "him" in the sentence "I saw him come" Is it direct object of "saw" or is it a part of the non-finite clause of "him come"?

'Him' is the object of 'saw' and 'come' is an infinitive functioning as object-complement.
