Punctuation

Post by omska »

Please help me with the punctuation for the "if not all then" pattern:

"She read if not all then most of his books."
"She read if not all, then most of his books."
"She read, if not all, then most of his books."
"She read, if not all then most, of his books."
"She read, if not all then most of, his books."

On google, I found five different ways of placing commas for this example. Which are the correct ways?

"She read, if not all, then most of his books."

This is my choice.
