made or let?

Hi, I would choose made. is this correct?

1)I made (or let?)? a couple of friends to help me to get the couche upstairs.

The grammatical options are:

a) I made a couple of friends help me get the couch upstairs. <-- you FORCED them to help you (I don't think so)

b) I let a couple of friends help me get the couch upstairs. <-- you permitted them to help you - how KIND you are!

More likely you want to say:

c) I asked a couple of friends to help me get the couch upstairs.

OR EVEN

d) A couple of friends helped me get the couch upstairs.

Notice the minor corrections in each sentence.
