well, it depends on what kinds of parties do you have. if you like these kinds of parties, you will think they are very useful, and interesting. If you don't like those kinds of parties,, you will think that they are boring and waste of time.
In my point of view, I think parties generally is good, because they are like small communities where you can communicate with other people, you can have fun.

If it's a LEGAL party with friends and family, parties are a great way to spend time with people you care about and to meet new people. Most parties are enjoyable and laid back, even if they're more on the fancy side.
But illegal parties are a different thing entirely. You wouldn't catch me dead at a party with underage drinking and such. Now THAT is a waste of time.
I'm not sure what kind of parties you meant.
Dear bumbeng, for me without parties I'll die.
Every Thursday we have a party, join us.
Thank you for your invitation. But It depends on what parties are they?

I do agree with you. Party is a good opportunity to raise the relationship between people such as companies, organizations need taking parties to rise staff' relationship. A birthday party is a good chance to enhance friendship and is a unforgettable mark of one's life. A farewell party is needed when you need to say goodbye to your friends, your kin for going studying abroad. And new year parties are wonderful opportunities to get together with family members, friends, and so on. In all, parties are needed in our lives. It is a way of entertainment, too.trungkienb wrote:well, it depends on what kinds of parties do you have. if you like these kinds of parties, you will think they are very useful, and interesting. The problem is what kind and size of parties, I mean that who take part in, how much you pay for, how long it lasts, where it takes...For example, it is unacceptable that a poor student' s birthday party takes in a luxurious restaurant, invites so much people, lasts all night...

Everybody has his way of distracting, some find it enjoyable to set around the table in a family diner, some prefer to spend their time with the person they love and some prefer to stay alone far from people and far from parties noise. Personally, I don’t mind having parties from time to time, but becoming addicted to that way of amusement is a biiig waste of time and money.

I dont think so, if someone is arraging parties for some casual ocassions then it is fine, however if you have a regular party at home or somewhere else then it is waste of time

Re: Parties are a waste of time (and money)!
I only have experienced family and friends gatherings/parties. So it's occasionally held. I see these as special events and celebration for thanksgiving. I don't look at this as a waste of money, if the person can afford it why not. We have different ways of expressing our gratitude for others. (some ways just cannot be the same all the time)
I believe that occasionally is alright.

I think parties would be waste of money only if you do it everyday even without important event to celebrate.

party is a good opportunty for us to know someone new and a good chance to build of your social networkng skill because you have to interact with people there, you can't just sit there and doing nothing, that will be too boring. Also, that is a good place to relax and express your true feelings. When it comes to money, i think it is necessary to spend some money on party. Believe it or not, parties could strength the colision of a team. One or two parties per month is totally fine, it is ridiculous to say that parties are a waste of time.

Re: Parties are a waste of time (and money)!
There is no definite answer on this question. Sometimes we can answer yes and sometimes no. It depends...
On one hand parties can be pretty important part of our life. For example, if we go to some party where we really enjoy, where we meet good people we like whom and we enjoy being with them, we can't say it's a waste of time and money. We need to relax in our life, we need communicate with our friends and good events create good emotions for us.
But on other hand often society imposes certain norms of behavior on us, and we must follow them. I mean, sometimes we need to attend such events because we must and not because we want. It can be some party at your work , when it's very desirable to all the employees to come, for example. Or you can be invited to some event , to people who can be even your friends or relatives, but you don't really want to go there, because of different reasons. You may be not interested being with other people at the party, or you don't like such a kind of event, or you might really be lack of time or money at this particular period in your life. But you have no choice... For instance, in my country' if you go to a wedding with whole your family, including your wife, children, parents, you will need to spent enough good sum of money. And in such cases it's really a waste of money and waste of time too.

It really depends on what your preferences are. I personally think parties can be a great opportunity to socialise and meet new people as well as have a good time in general!

Parties is not a waste of time if it makes you happy. Because anything that makes you have happy will never be a waste. What should we mind is that if going to parties becomes too much that we forget the things that we should spend time to.

Really parties are meant for active members. In my point of view if any one is inactive then he/she cannot be mingle with the others. Even they don't communicate with other person. Then it can be entertainment for active and time waste for inactive,

Depending upon the human mentality. If they are active they will easily enjoy the party. If someone who are inactive cannot enjoy the party and they definitely feels waste of money.
