Dear teachers,
I came across the following sentence, and I am confused about the use of "early":
1. I early saw the demoralization of so many of my out-of-work companions.
In this sentence, "early" seems to modify "saw". Is this possible?
Thank you for your help and time.

Re: Early saw
This is not standard contemporary usage.
