Need help with sentence structure and grammar

Hello everyone,
I live in Finland and most of the times (almost 90%) I use English both at work and in daily life but often gets confused with sentence structures and grammar but I am continuously working on it using various tools. For now I need help with the following sentence and would like to know which form is more grammatically correct.

''However, I'm also aware of the fact that logic and proper reasoning have been long outlawed in our present times and those who dare to criticize are banished and perceived as a bad person''.

**OR**

''However, I'm also aware of the fact that in our present times both logic and proper reasoning have been long outlawed and those who dare to criticize are banished and perceived as a bad person''.

Neither is fully correct.
