When will the R-U war stop?

Post by SitangCampus »

It is a disaster. there are still 5000 Chinese people stuck in Ukraine.
But unlike the Sino-Viet War in 1979 in which heavy gunfire was used to remove whoever was in the way, the current war is not making civilians the targets and people of Kyiv can still use water, electricity, wifi services. Videos of we-media telling firsthand stories are widespread online, we do not know which is which or what is what.
Let us all say a prayer to stop the war immediately.

Russia and Ukraine were the same family, weren't they?
The war could have been avoided, should the comedian-turned President Zelenskyy be a little low-key and not seek the membership of NATO.
When both of the countries were under the rule of the former Soviet Union, Ukraine as a region served as the first defence line of the capital Moscow. Even after they broke up, Russia, which still makes Moscow the capital, will still demand Kiev unchanged in its role.
NATO has attracted and absorbed almost all of the members of its old rival counterpart Warsaw Pact and doesn't stop its expansion, putting Moscow within its nuclear missile shooting distance and making the situation tense.
If Russia had not taken the pre-emptive action to launch the special military operation(same things happened on the part of the United States in handling Iraq, Afganhistan, Yogoslavia, Lybia, Syria, Panama, etc, only that the western media did not describe the events in the same words), it might have had NATO forces at the doorstep very soon.
