to walk clear

Post by PinkLady »

Consider the following sentence:

"We live in a tiny town, about ninety minutes from Buffalo, in upstate New York, where there’s only one high school, everyone knows everyone, and you can walk clear across the whole town in an hour."

What does 'to walk clear' mean?
Is it to walk in a straight line?
s it to walk safely?...

(I looked this up in the dictionary, but I couldn't find it.)
