What is the difference between "learn" and "study"?

I have been learning English for 2 months. And I know that the verbs "learn" and "study" have the same meaning. So can you tell me in what specific situations these 2 verbs are used?
I would appreciate your help!

The verb "study" means to read, practise, or review something to understand it better. It is the process of trying to learn.

The verb "learn" means to gain knowledge or skills and be able to use them. It is the result of studying or experiencing something.

Examples:
  • I study English every day. (I spend time reading, writing, or practicing.)
  • I learned a new word today. (Now I know the word and can use it.)
So, you study to learn! :mrgreen:

If you put your hand in the fire you immediately learn not to do that. You didn't study it!

The difference between learn and study is a little bit like the difference between hear and listen. The first is passive and the second is active:

So it's not really true to say:
