talking to (the) people he meets

Post by ansonman »

I have made up the sentences below.

(1a) Jack is sociable and friendly. He enjoys talking to the people he meets on the street.

(1b) Jack is sociable and friendly. He enjoys talking to people he meets on the street.

Do I need the definite article before "people"? Thank you for your help.
