Re: opportunity cost
Neither sentence is quite natural or correct in standard English. Let’s revise them:
Correct and natural version:
"This has a great opportunity cost for me."
Why:
"Is having" is not usually used this way in English. The verb "have" is typically not used in the continuous/progressive form when talking about possession or cost.
"Opportunity cost" is a formal economic term meaning the value of what you give up when you choose one option over another. If you personalize it (i.e. for me), it suggests that you are the one bearing the cost.
Other natural options:
"This decision comes with a high opportunity cost for me."
"This involves a significant opportunity cost on my part."
"Choosing this means giving up something valuable." (less formal, clearer for general audiences)
