I think it's yes. Economic globalization has made the world be a small village. We are sharing a lot things that never happened. Of course many of us are suffering from stress nowadays. It's a global epidemic.

Personally, I don't like the word suffering because I feel it has very negative sense. So I would rather think about it as coping with stress and I see that everone has to cope with a stress from time to time but not everybody suffers from them. Or suffering might be not that strong and lenghty and does not lead to a kind of depression.

To me important factors that help lessen negative effects from stresses are strong personality, good health and assistance from relatives and friends. And also it is important not to forget to search on Google for people or communities that have managed to sort out a particular stress.

Suffering from stress

Post by Lac »

It's a very nice topic that spends much time discussing and writing.
We're living in the society in which all of us have been under a great deal of different stresses: business, job, social activities etc... and even the relationship of familial members as well as other inner and outer relations. That means we're all experiencing endless pressures from life itself, which originates from interminable things around.
The matter is how to deal with such suffering ever increasing in our own life. I think everyone has their own way of coping with that incessant distress occuring in routine life.
Is suffering from stress epidemic ? Sure. But the problem doesnt stop there.
What can we do in suffering itself ? It is the suffering that we have many heroes who are aware of overcoming hindrances to attain their goal in life. It is the suffering it self that we discover the validity and merit of overwhelming difficulties in something called "global epidemic".
We also notice the positive side of "epidemic" here in terms of its suffering-related setting. The suffering will never end inasmuch as human living in this world encounter tough things in the present rugged life.

Yes, it is. It is a global epidemic. More and more stressed people in the street. They are walking bare naked. The government does not care. People watch them happily as if it's a joke.

Sure. The question is ‘how to avoid lots of stressed of our everyday life’ or ‘if it is ever possible to avoid stresses?’ I think that the process of globalization, that includes massive emigration and as a consequence mixing up people of different cultures and religions, and violently increasing speed of our life, demands more serious efforts to prevent stress. The list of important things which help us to avoid or quickly overcome stress is inevitably growing up. My list includes such ‘absolutely necessary things’ as good health and assistance from relatives and friends, appropriate place of work and friendly relationships with colleagues, possibility to sleep for 8 hours every night, having a chance to relax somehow once a week, good food, possibility to buy regularly new things, usage of aroma oils, etc.
I guess that the problem of our inability to overcome stress is both in our usual inattentiveness towards ourselves (as a consequence of lack of love towards ourselves) and in our inability of structuring our lives.
By the way, while writing this message, I was sitting and smoking a cigarette in spite of proved harm of nicotine. Moreover, it’s certainly the time to go to sleep, otherwise I’ll not sleep for 8 hours…

Yes stress is growing, because everyone wants things they don't have.

Hi Zalles:) Thank you for your comment!

Eiler - yes that is very true. I think people who are poor have more stress, and a more realistic reason to be stressed, than those who are richer! (Not everyone in Africa is poor though!)

When i think back to my dad - he was quite happy to have a simple life. These days (my generation) we seem to want more - we seem to think we deserve more. We all want to be the 'hero' or 'star' of things.

Like you say - chilling out is VERY important!

Yes, other people do try to put pressure on you, but we then put the real pressure on ourselves.

We all need to chill at times!!

i think the stress is a realy bad problem because most of the people dont now how handle. In mi opinion one way to avoid stress is looking somthing you really like as a sport even the simple relation whit friend one day a week is enough . If you work all the week and you dont relax yourself one day, doing everiting you like, you are gone to have serious problems. So forget your job, your school, even you wife for one whole day. tk for read this bye.

I have a something to say in this subject. Firs of all, we must acknowledge that the stress is in our life and this will be all time.It is important that we must overcome from this problem. We must be patient,we must struggle with it,and we must not give up the idea of struggling. Also we must trust on God.Because God guides us everytime..

Sure. I think nowadays there is a expectation of the people to be "happy". The people are meant to have a good job, money, a good car, a beautiful house, and many other things. I think because of this the people are getting more and more stressed.

I do agree! As the development of mordern society, people are very busy these days. They work hard ,they want to get more money ,they want to improve their living standard. They also face harsh competition from their colleagues and the society. Some pressue also from their children and parents. So sometimes they may feel stress, Then they should speak it out to some friends. If it don,t help, they should consult the doctors!

of course it is the global problem!we all want to live comfortable and we dont want to be worse than the others. needs are bigger than 50 years ago. today teenagers have so high requirements, that many parents cant handle it. the only way to get money is to get a job. so there is very common that young people are working. for them stressful life begins too early. plus pressure at school which is so big, that sometimes children have a healthy issues before they become adults! so yes, stress is a huge problem!and we should do something before it would grow over us.

In my point of view, stress becomes a global epidemic once we are accostumed to grow it. We are easily putted under stress by external event, but we can mostly suffering from stress by ourselves' thoughts especially for those who are used to have bad ones.

Of course it`s a major problem worldwide. But in my country it`s worse than anywhere.Because there are less job opportunities for everybody due to bad economic situation of my country and corruption so the competition for getting a job is fierce so young people are pushed into stressful situations They think without job there is no money ,without money there is no happy future. : :-( }:

No, I don’t completely agree that stress is a global epidemic. I think it depends on the person and the lifestyle they have. While many people feel stressed because of work, school, or personal problems, others have learned how to manage stress in healthy ways. For example, some people practice yoga, meditation, or spend more time in nature to relax. Also, not every country or culture experiences stress in the same way. In some places, people live a slower life and have less pressure. I believe stress is a big problem in modern life, especially in cities, but I don’t think it affects everyone equally or in the same amount. That’s why I don’t fully agree with calling it a global epidemic.

In my personal opinion, I have to say that, indeed, stress is a global epidemic. Still, this one is not a physical disease; however, it carries physical symptoms. This one is deliberately made by the same society and groups that want to treat it or cure it, and I am referring to none other than businessmen and doctors. You will see, nowadays, doctors and businessmen investing time and money in conferences, occupational health speeches, and conventions about this topic, advising and recommending tips to diminish levels of stress at work, when, are all the hectic work schedules, all overtimes, all multifunctional work positions, extended long work hours and less time off, dictated by these same groups, that causes on workers this stress. Since this is a global work pattern, we havee a global epidemic.
