TOEIC Part 1 and Part 2 tips

Post by vacy »

TOEIC Part 1 Tips
Anticipate the Scene: While the audio is playing instructions, candidates should predict the context and situation of the picture to list potential vocabulary. Prioritize nouns referring to subjects and objects, and main verbs.
Observe Details for Traps: As the audio plays, carefully observe the picture and compare details that could be "traps." These include: the number of objects (few, many), position (far, near, above, below, etc.), and state (closed, open, full, empty, etc.).
Choose the Correct Verb and Sentence Structure: Select the correct verb and sentence structure for the subject in the picture. Avoid choosing a passive sentence for a subject performing an active action, and vice-versa.
TOEIC Part 2 Tips
Listen Carefully to the Entire Question and All Responses: Avoid rushing and only listening for keywords or similar-sounding words, as these are highly likely to be "traps." The correct answer might not even contain keywords similar to the question.
Pay Attention to Tense: Note the tense of the question and the three responses. If you hear two responses that are semantically similar and seem appropriate as a reply to the question, check if their tenses are correct. For example, if the question is in the present/future tense but an answer is in the past tense, then eliminate it.
Some "Always Correct" Responses: Certain responses are often correct even if they don't seem to directly address the question:
I don't know / I have no idea / I don't have any clue
I've never heard about it / I haven't heard anything about it
I can't decide / It hasn't been decided yet
