I think so.
My best friend is a girl and she also loves a man who is older than me.
Friendship is forever. It's so wonderful to have and confide sth in your best friend who is the opposite sex with you.

Yeah, I think so too. I mean about having a friend that is opposite sex even though I am not entirely sure if that can work out 100%. I do love having lots of guy friends but I never treat them like my real serious friends but more like good mates to hang out and have fun with. I think it's so much better than going out shopping with girls lol ;p

do u think men and woman can be platonic friends?
in my opinion it's hardly possible! especially among young people, who have a lot of crazy ideas every minute ;> [i know about it from experience

young boy who is in love with young girl thinks about her all the time and if she doesn't want to be with him, he won't be her friend. that'll be probably the end of this acquaintance ;> this kind of friendship is very complicated.

If you wanna find an answer to this question, you should see the movie "when Harry meet Sally" starring by Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan.... There is a part in the movie when Sally asks Harry this question and he says: "Men and women can not be friends because sex always will be interfering.... we´re always thinking about sex, and it´s a matter of time when it will screw the friendship up.." Or maybe that episode of "Seinfield" where Jerry and Elaine had to have sex to save their friendship....

My point is that, in some point, one of them is going to think about sex... I believe the key to a friendship between a man and a woman last depend on how they manage to deal with that issue.....

in my countery the relationship between men and women is forbbiden at all i do not know why they say cuz. of traditions i really wish to broke this law

but in my opionion it will take years in my homeland to have a pure freindship between men and women cuz. all relations now are interesting on body and sex.

I think a relationship betweet men and women can work when both, the man and the woman, make an effort . sometimes you have to work really hard on it - but in which relationship you don't have to do that?

In my opinion men should waste less thoughts on sex and everything will work

And do we always have to fall in love with our mates? I don't think so, cause there can also be a bond without 'really deep feelings' and sex . definitely .

well to me i find it possible to have this kind of friendship coz i already have, but i guess in my own country it's hard for some ppl to believe in that or at least keep it for along time, that's y the relationship usually shifts to deal with other issues such as love, sex..etc ending to the break up in some cases.
