condolence

Post by golfinpr » Wed Nov 27, 2019 7:54 pm

Hello,

for a condolence card can I write:

Goodbye:
we just let go of the hand
not the people

I found that phrase in German and I like it but I am not sure how it is in english and maybe farewell is better the goodbye or does farewell only means going away but not to die?

Thank you very much!

Ingolf

Seems fine to me, though Farewell would certainly be better
