Verb to be + really

Post by ccosta » Sun Mar 22, 2020 2:28 am

Hi everyone,
I'm an ESL teacher and recently I read the sentence "It's ok only if you know what Minimalism is really" and I started to question with myself if this use is+really is grammatically correct or it should be really+is. If both are accepted, could you explain to me why and in which context?

Best wishes,
Carol

Like you, I find this word order most strange!

'...really is.' would indeed be the normal form of expression.
