I have made up the sentences below.

(1a) My dad is a band member. He likes to play songs from the 1980s.
(1b) My dad is a band member. He likes to play songs of the 1980s.

(2a) My uncle loves songs from 1963.
(2b) My uncle loves songs of 1963.

Most of my non-native friends think "from" works for both pairs of sentences. My other friends think "of" sounds more natural.

What is your opinion? Thanks.

Use 'from' for both.
