a very good review of a book, movie, play, concert, etc.

For example

  • The "True Detective" mini-series got a rave review in The Guardian.

  • Not many books on economics receive rave reviews, but Piketty's "Capital in the Twenty-First Century" has.

Note:
A collocation with the opposite meaning is "scathing review"
