I told you so

Meaning

You can say this if something bad happens after you've warned someone that it might.

For example

  • I'd warned him about the ice, so after he slipped over I said, "I told you so."

  • When Julia got sick, her sister said, "I told you so. If you don't eat right, you get sick. See?"

Note:
Also "I told you", "told you" and "What did I tell you?" (rhetorical question)
