Meaning

You can say this if someone's advice or opinion isn't supported by what they've done in their own life.

For example

  • While I was telling my kids how bad smoking is, my son said, "Look who's talking! I've seen you smoke!"

  • A guy on TV was saying it's unhealthy to be overweight, and Luke said, "Look who's talking! He's overweight!"

Note:
Also "you can talk", "you can't talk" and "you're a fine one to talk"
