quite right!

You can say this to show you completely agree with what someone's said.

For example

  • "People think they need these expensive things to impress other people, don't they?"
    "Quite right! And they work really hard to get money to buy these status symbols."

  • "It's impossible to live without working."
    "Quite right! But it doesn't mean you have to waste your whole life trying to make money."


This is typically used in British and Australian English but may be used in other varieties of English too.
