Meaning

You can say this to threaten somebody who has upset or angered you.

For example

  • "Do that again and I'll hit you, pal. So watch it!"

  • "I'm going to report you to the police!"
    "I'd watch it if I were you, buddy. You'll regret it if you do."

Note:
Can also be used in the same way as "Watch out!" to tell somebody to be more careful, as in "Watch it! You nearly hit me!"
