Meaning

You can say "just in case" when describing a possible future problem and a precaution that has been, or should be, taken against it.

For example

  • I'm taking an umbrella, just in case it rains.

  • You probably won't need to go to a hospital in Europe, but you should get some health insurance anyway, just in case.
